A ROLLER COASTER? IT'S MY 23RD BIRTHDAY!!!

So, I spent over an hour just staring at my screen, I had so much to say. "How do I turn my reality into words", I thought.

It's been almost a year I used my pen as some of you may have noticed, I had even put a hold to my series "Adenike" (resuming soon by the way ). It was almost foreign to me officially writing again.

It wasn't a voluntary decision, although at first, I thought It was. It started with me been busy with school work, then thinking at some point that I had lost my flow of writing and then finally realising that it is the Lord who ceased my pen for a season to teach me a valuable tool that would help my writing journey.

You see, as a girl who grew up as an introvert (have learnt to manage it well), I have always had an issue with vulnerability, I was the girl who had a lot going on with her but will not say a word about it and this reflected in my writing. I had issues relating my experiences, showing my flaws. Even when the Lord wanted me to to write it down in view of impacting someone, I still wouldn't/couldn't pen that vulnerability.

I had flaws, I still have flaws, and just maybe I will still have some of these flaws for a while, I do not know, I have just decided that I will keep looking up to Jesus, who is my perfection.

In almost a year, I have gone through series of challenges, I have learnt alot, Unlearn alot and there are still a few things I am learning to unlearn.

It's I and my blog's birthday today!

In this past one year,

I have learnt that it could be very lonely and void without God, hence I have learnt never to let go of his hand.

I have learnt to take the little things that life offer and turn it into a mighty ocean. Hence I am content to create my own path.

I have learnt to value people and relationships because no man is an Island.

I have learnt to cry hard and still get up to do what I have to do.

I have learnt vulnerability with my pen.

I have learnt to appreciate my good qualities.

I have learnt to be comfortable in my own style and identity and be who God wants me to be.

I agree this year wasn't so easy but it was amazing because just as I went through fire, I also came out refined.

So, here is my 2 cent to anyone who may be reading this.

Irrespective of your present challanges,

Life is amazing.

God is amazing .

Relationships are beautiful.

You are more than what you think you are.

I can assure you that God has you in mind.

Just take it a step at a time and never give up. I took mine a step at a time holding God's hands and He did not lead me astray neither did He disappoint me. I recommend same for you too.

Cheers to my 23rd birthday😊

Adéniké - Episode 4

"What are you doing here, Nike. It's late." David blurted out. Smiling, Nike walked into the little room and made herself comfortable on the bed.  With crossed legs and poised lips, she pointed at David. "I came to keep you company."  David looked straight at her. Although her body begged for his touch, her eyes said otherwise. He thought they looked confused and this caused him to take a step backwards.  "Nike, stop walking towards me." He snapped and shifted backwards slowly.  "What is wrong with you!".  David thought of a way out of the situation but found himself struck by her beauty.  "Oh! She looks so beautiful! Her legs are so long and attractive.  Could this be the Lord presenting pleasure to me on a platter of gold? What if this is a gift from the Lord. No wonder I have been so endeared to her." Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourse...

Adéniké - Episode 5

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,"declares  the LORD. Isaiah 55:8 Once again, the gallops made Adenike bump into the dirty-looking man sitting beside her.  She had been on the road for over five hours now. Irritated, she tried to move as much as she could away from him. As if that wasn't enough, the girl in front of her wouldn't stop talking. She had been chattering for two hours non stop. She was pissed. "What the heck! Does she think she is the only one here."  Just then, she imagined pulling her hair and yelling at her to keep quiet. It was such an awful journey. She just couldn't wait to get down from the disgusting bus.  The bus soon came to a halt. Adenike highlighted from the bus, unsure of her surrounding.  She was bewildered. There were people everywhere. It seemed like a small crowded village.  Just then, a woman approached her. "Aunty, I dey sell earring, fine fine one wey go fit you. Shey make I bring...

A Girl’s Longing Flame

In La La Land, my heart did dwell, Dreaming of a love, I couldn't quite tell. In my mind, he was the one, A world of fantasies, I had spun. I gave my all, my love, my care, For in my dreams, he was always there. His silent signals, a subtle dance, Yet, I held onto hope's fragile chance. In the castle of my mind, a home we'd build, As if our fates were already sealed. But alas, reality would intervene, A truth so painful, yet unseen. He loved another, my heart did break, In tears and sorrow, I'd wake. Why did he play with my heart so dear? Those sweet kisses, now a bitter tear. I was a fool, a romantic blind, In my own world, lost in my mind. One-sided love, I couldn't see, My heartache a cruel mystery. But time has passed, wounds have healed, Now I see what was concealed. He's just like any other, no more, No special magic, like times of yore. That inexplicable pull, now a distant memory, Was it love, or just a fantasy? Not mere lust o...
