"What are you doing here, Nike. It's late." David blurted out.
Smiling, Nike walked into the little room and made herself comfortable on the bed.
With crossed legs and poised lips, she pointed at David. "I came to keep you company."
David looked straight at her. Although her body begged for his touch, her eyes said otherwise. He thought they looked confused and this caused him to take a step backwards.
"Nike, stop walking towards me." He snapped and shifted backwards slowly.
"What is wrong with you!".
David thought of a way out of the situation but found himself struck by her beauty.
"Oh! She looks so beautiful! Her legs are so long and attractive.
Could this be the Lord presenting pleasure to me on a platter of gold? What if this is a gift from the Lord. No wonder I have been so endeared to her."
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
Those words pulled him out of whatever spell Nike had used on him.
Suddenly, he knew exactly what to do. He no longer found her sexy. Rather, he was shocked at the image which stood in front of him. Nike appeared as a young girl crying for help.
He looked up again and tears trickled down his face when he saw the same picture.
"What is going on Lord?"
Immediately, he turned to her and rebuked her. "Adenike, what is this you are doing?"
David could swear that those weren't what he wanted to say.
Nike paused.
Why was he crying and why did he just call her by her full name? She was 18 years old and clearly not a child for goodness sake. Could he have restrained himself from sleeping with her because he thought she was still a child? Nike thought.
Her face beamed with smiles as she decided to approach him again.
However, as she got closer, she noticed that her vision became blurry. She was no longer able to see David. What she saw was the image of a man whom she felt was very familiar.
Frightened, she stepped backwards. Why is this man here again?
Her face was beginning to turn white. David noticed this and tried to reach her. But, before he could do anything, she had reached for the door.
"He had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things."
"What? Lord? Nike? How? I mean I barely got out of this one. How do I do what you ask!
"Tend my sheep".
Nike paced the room, looking for nothing in particular. She had been restless, since her encounter with David two days ago. She could not understand what had happened in that room. She soon concluded that David was definitely involved in something diabolical. At that, she didn't mind. She was only interested in getting into his pants. Maybe that would purge him out of her thoughts.

Panicking, Nike stared at the ugly looking animal that came straight at her. Then, she turned to a beautifully furnished house with a secured gate. As she tried to run towards the house, her legs would not move. When she looked down to see what was stopping her, she screamed. There was a black-stripped snake tied around her legs. Still shaky, she tried to pull free but could not. The ugly looking animal was almost charging at her. As it positioned itself to pounce on her, she woke up.
With her heart in her mouth, she smuffled her voice. Tears gushed down her cheeks. She folded her arms across her chest and cuddled herself, staring at the cold darkness, afraid and so alone. Then, she cried back to sleep.
David had just woken up and was sweating profusely. He had a dream which he found strange. Nike had been forced into a pit and was crying profusely. Even though he tried his best to reach for her hand, Nike couldn't see him.
"Is Nike in danger?" David spoke aloud.
He hurriedly proceeded to check up on her. After taking a deep breath he knocked on her door, but there was no answer.
After standing for a while, he opened the door and found her bed empty. Surprised, he decided to walk towards the general dining area.
"Nike never wakes up early". He whispered. "Where could she be?"
Few minutes after his discovery, David searched every nook and cranny of the citadel but it seemed that Nike had disappeared into thin air. He suddenly paused. Nike had gone.
He broke down in tears as he sat on the floor. He knew this had something to do with his dream.
Why didn't he just make a silent prayer for her when he had that dream? Why didn't he listen to God and tend the sheep as He wanted.
His mind couldn't help but wonder the danger Nike must be in.
"Father please protect her, please send another one to her", he whispered to the Lord.
