Her Identity

Dear Girl,

I choose to write you today about your identity in Christ.

Have you ever wondered why Ruth didn't want to leave her mother-in-law and her God? Or why Esther though very simple in background was clothed with favour and had the fragrance of beauty?

There is a level that knowing your identity in Christ takes you to. It gives you a profound Godfidence in who you are. It comes with an assurance that you are covered.

In this our day, there are different identity crisis.  You know, I once spoke to a lady who expressed her incompleteness when she doesn't have a man by her side and this made her jump into one relationship after the other. Which ruined her self esteem and scattered her awareness of self. Apparently, in every relationship she entered, she derived everything from her partner, her joy, her fulfilledness and so on and when he was not available to give them she becomes sad and demands them from him.

See, dear girl, relationship is a good thing, marriage is an even better thing but you have to get the foundation right. There are things that only God can give freely without Him getting tired or weary. Have you tried finding yourself in Christ first? Have you seen your portions in the scriptures? Have you discovered what God says about you?

Oh dear, have you understood the mystery of Christ who became flesh? Do you know that the Lord has blessed you with every spiritual blessing? Meaning that you have free access to joy, to peace, to His love. Do you know that the Lord loved you even before he created the world?

Why do you feel so alone when He says in Eph 1:5 that He has adopted you into His family, He has brought you to Himself through Christ Jesus and it gives Him great pleasure! This means that God wants you, you are important to Him, you are his priority, so why fight to be the priority of other people when the hands of the Father is opened to you?

I know you think that you've gone too far in sin for God to take you. You think, oh, I have given my body so much to men that it must be useless to God at the moment. But that's not true. Eph 1:7 says that you have redemption in Christ. Dear Girl He has redeemed you through His blood, that's how rich He is in kindness. When you come to him with a genuine and repentant heart, He raps you in His arms and He sees a new person. He no longer sees your past, your mistakes, He sees only what He has written about you and He is hoping that you will partner with Him to fulfill them.

Dear Girl, you are His daughter, His own! Ever have that feeling of wanting to be owned by a man? Great! You are owned by God and He loves and cherishes you so much.

Read this words out loud dear girl:

"I am God's own because He has identified me as His own the moment I believed in christ".

What is your assurance that He has identified you as His own? You know this because the moment you believed in Him, He gave you His spirit. Can you imagine dear girl? You have the seal of the Holy spirit which is an assurance of your place in God, an assurance of your inheritance in christ.  It is like your surname. Your surname assures you that you are from a particular family. It is the same way the spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit assures you of your identity in Christ.

So dear girl, you are not your past, you are not your mistakes, and you definitely do not need to feel complete only when you are with a man. You have all you need in christ. He is everything in one. He is that satisfaction that you have been seeking for a long time. Please give Him a chance to show you the riches in His grace and kindness.

Your sister,

Abbashiningstar

Adéniké - Episode 4

"What are you doing here, Nike. It's late." David blurted out. Smiling, Nike walked into the little room and made herself comfortable on the bed.  With crossed legs and poised lips, she pointed at David. "I came to keep you company."  David looked straight at her. Although her body begged for his touch, her eyes said otherwise. He thought they looked confused and this caused him to take a step backwards.  "Nike, stop walking towards me." He snapped and shifted backwards slowly.  "What is wrong with you!".  David thought of a way out of the situation but found himself struck by her beauty.  "Oh! She looks so beautiful! Her legs are so long and attractive.  Could this be the Lord presenting pleasure to me on a platter of gold? What if this is a gift from the Lord. No wonder I have been so endeared to her." Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourse...

Adéniké - Episode 5

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,"declares  the LORD. Isaiah 55:8 Once again, the gallops made Adenike bump into the dirty-looking man sitting beside her.  She had been on the road for over five hours now. Irritated, she tried to move as much as she could away from him. As if that wasn't enough, the girl in front of her wouldn't stop talking. She had been chattering for two hours non stop. She was pissed. "What the heck! Does she think she is the only one here."  Just then, she imagined pulling her hair and yelling at her to keep quiet. It was such an awful journey. She just couldn't wait to get down from the disgusting bus.  The bus soon came to a halt. Adenike highlighted from the bus, unsure of her surrounding.  She was bewildered. There were people everywhere. It seemed like a small crowded village.  Just then, a woman approached her. "Aunty, I dey sell earring, fine fine one wey go fit you. Shey make I bring...
